MTC to offer GED classes at Goodwill's Manatee locations

BRADENTON, FL – In response to the closing of Manatee Technical College's North Campus in Palmetto, Goodwill Manasota has made available community rooms at three of its Manatee County locations to provide space for the school's GED® Preparation classes. At the beginning of the new academic year in August, Manatee Technical College (MTC) will offer its GED classes at Goodwill's Corporate Campus (2715 51st Ave. E.), Ranch Lake (8750 E. State Road 70) and Cortez (3465 Cortez Rd. W.) sites, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Goodwill to host free consultations with Gulfcoast Legal Services attorneys

BRADENTON, FL – Community members who have legal questions are invited to take advantage of free consultations with attorneys from Gulfcoast Legal Services. The attorneys will meet potential clients at no cost for up to 30 minutes to determine if they are eligible for services in the following legal areas: family, housing, immigration, elder, consumer and/or victims of crime.

Goodwill, SRQ Vets expand access to mental health counseling for veterans

In 2016, Goodwill Manasota launched the BRAVE (Benefits, Resources and Veterans Education) networking program. Through a partnership with the Women’s Resource Center of Manatee and Sarasota (WRC), the two organizations were able to make mental health care available for all local veterans at no cost. Now, thanks to funding being provided by SRQ VETS, Goodwill is thrilled to expand the availability of mental health counseling from one day per week to every day.

Goodwill marks Military Appreciation Month with Veterans Open House

Goodwill Manasota announces 2018-2019 board of directors

Goodwill Manasota is pleased to announce its 2018-2019 Board of Directors. Peter Crowley continues his tenure as chairman of the board, with past chair Rob Morris holding the title of chair emeritus. New to the board this year are Mike Bryant, Jacqueline Moore and Allen Weinstein.
