Goodwill Manasota Opens New Attended Donation Center in Lakewood Ranch
SARASOTA/BRADENTON, FL – Goodwill Manasota is expanding its efforts to strengthen communities and reduce barriers to employment by opening new retail and donation centers. In late February, the organization launched a 2,030-square-foot attended donation center (ADC) in Lakewood Ranch, located at 7180 University Parkway. This new Waterside ADC offers a convenient drop-off option for residents to donate gently-used items while supporting Goodwill’s mission to fund job training and employment programs.

How Donations Support Goodwill’s Mission
The Lakewood Ranch donation center is part of Goodwill Manasota’s strategy to support growth in the area, maximize retail revenues, and provide free career services for individuals facing employment challenges. These services include support for veterans, justice-involved individuals, and others seeking to improve their job prospects. By donating gently-used goods, community members directly contribute to creating jobs and funding programs that help people reintegrate into their communities and families.

Waterside ADC: A Convenient Donation Option
The Waterside ADC is housed in a modern facility shared with two other tenants. The opening of this center has created three new jobs, with team members ready to accept donations seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Kimberly Glogovsky, Senior Director of Real Estate for Goodwill, emphasized the location’s prime position near University Parkway, stating, “This site offers a quick and easy way for donors to contribute to Goodwill’s mission while being at the heart of the vibrant Lakewood Ranch community.
Supporting Growth in Emerging Areas
As Goodwill continues to expand, the organization is focusing on emerging residential areas, particularly east of Lorraine Road, where new home development is rapidly increasing. The organization prioritizes accessibility, visibility, and curb appeal, ensuring that each location reflects a welcoming environment for donors and shoppers alike.
Kimberly Glogovsky, Senior Director of Real Estate for Goodwill, noted that the site’s modern, fresh, and clean appearance aligns with the organization’s emphasis on curb appeal. “This new center reflects the welcoming environment we always aim to provide,” she said.
The Impact of Your Donations
Attended donation centers (ADCs) play a crucial role in supporting Goodwill’s mission of transforming lives through work. Each donation of gently-used goods dropped off at the Waterside ADC is sold at Goodwill retail stores across Sarasota, Manatee, DeSoto, Hardee, and portions of Lee and Northwest Charlotte counties. The money from those retail sales funds jobs and associated programs at Goodwill; the average donation provides more than three hours of job training and opportunities for those with barriers to employment.
By donating items like clothing, furniture, and household goods, community members directly contribute to programs that help individuals gain skills, find jobs, and achieve financial stability.
