SARASOTA/BRADENTON, FL –Art Center Sarasota and Goodwill Manasota have partnered for the third annual MASHterpieces art exhibition, featuring pieces donated to Goodwill Manasota, selected by 30 area artists and transformed into new works of art. The two organizations recently celebrated the exhibition’s success and their partnership with a reception, aptly titled “MASHterParty.” The event, attended by more than 100 guests, featured a chance to chat with the participating artists, refreshments, and the famous MASHed potato bar. So far, 10 of the 36 pieces have been sold – with proceeds benefiting both organizations – and artists and visitors to the exhibition have enjoyed not only the artwork but also the concept of making something old new and fresh. Art Center executive director Lisa Berger reports that a number of new artists have expressed an interest in participating, which may necessitate moving the exhibition to a bigger gallery next year. For more information on the exhibition, call the Art Center at (941) 365-2032.
