SARASOTA/BRADENTON, FL – Goodwill Manasota’s Veterans Services Program recently received a donation from Fusion HealthCare to benefit homeless veterans. Every year, the Fusion HealthCare offices participate in a holiday drive; this year, the employees of the Fusion office in Sarasota selected Goodwill’s Veterans Services Program to connect their contributions with veterans in need.

“Every year we look for deserving organizations to donate to in recognition of the holiday season. This is a great way to build office morale while giving back – it’s our responsibility as businesses to help those in need,” said Toni Sexton, Fusion HealthCare owner. “Goodwill Manasota’s Veterans Services Program was brought to our attention: we really wanted to make a difference in the lives of homeless veterans and we learned that Goodwill not only reaches out to veterans but they also help with employment and connecting them to services they really need. That’s definitely a cause we are proud to get behind.”

The 20 employees in the Sarasota office collected 17 blankets, clothing – including jeans, sweatshirts and socks – body wash and toiletries, and $300 worth of gift cards to Publix, Walmart and local restaurants. The agency wanted to ensure the donations would reach homeless veterans in the community, and was confident Goodwill Manasota was best positioned to distribute those items.

“We are absolutely thrilled that Fusion HealthCare is showcasing such great corporate social responsibility this holiday season, and that they selected us as a partner for this endeavor,” said Veronica Brandon Miller, vice president of the Goodwill Manasota Foundation. “Our Veterans Services Program team is made up of veterans – they know what veterans need in our community and work with them on a daily basis. We appreciate Fusion HealthCare for graciously donating these items, which will help homeless veterans in a significant way.”
