Last night was the launch of Goodwill Manasota’s 2017 Marketing Campaign and what a launch it was! Since I am still fairly new to Goodwill (about 5 months in now), this was my first time seeing a Goodwill marketing campaign come together and then launch and I have to say it was impressive.
The theme of the 2017 campaign is “I am Goodwill,” and it features many of our local Ambassadors sharing why they support Goodwill. Overall, there were over 100 different Ambassadors who volunteered to be filmed and photographed, documenting their ongoing commitment to helping further Goodwill’s mission of changing live through the power of work.
At the official launch party last night (which took place at iHeart Media), campaign materials were unveiled, including multiple versions of 15 and 30 second commercials. Each version of the commercial featured different Ambassadors sharing the same message – every time you donate or shop at Goodwill, YOU are creating a job. Although in the commercials they say “When I …. I am creating a job”, but you get it!
As Ambassadors mingled and the commercials were shown, we went around with a cutout that said “I am Goodwill because…” and had party guests fill in their responses and take pictures in the cutout frame. It was awesome to see so many different answers and reasons why people feel that they are Goodwill. Ranging from bringing people together, to great deals on clothes, to creating jobs and helping veterans, every answer was heartfelt and provided insight into why Goodwill Manasota has such strong community support.
