If you’re like most people, you’re just now getting around to packing up the remnants of the holidays and desperately attempting to fit everything into your packed closets and cabinets. In the process you have no doubt found items to be donated and ended up with a pile blocking the hallway or taking up space in a corner. Your pile has a little bit of everything from clothing to canned goods and you are NOT looking forward to sorting out what needs to go where. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could drop off everything in one fell swoop rather than making multiple stops around town at different donation locations?
Guess what? You can!
Everybody knows that Goodwill accepts donations of clothes, housewares, furniture, and so on. That’s how we stock our stores and what enables us to advance our mission of changing lives through the power of work. What most people probably don’t know is that Goodwill Manasota also accepts non-perishable food items. You don’t see food for sale in our stores though, so what happens to all those non-perishables?
Because we like to make life easy for our donors, we want to save you the step of having to go to the food bank. When you drop off canned goods and non-perishables at any of our donation centers, we make sure those donations get to the food banks so you don’t have to! Through partnerships with both The Food Bank of Manatee and All Faith’s Food Bank, we’ll get your donations get to the people who need them most AND save you a step in the process!
So the next time you have a donation pile with both canned goods and clothes, don’t get yourself in a tizzy about having to make multiple donation stops. Just swing by your nearest Goodwill Donation Center and let us handle the rest!
