Brrrr! Remember when it was cold earlier this week for about ten minutes? I do because I was in a state of panic Monday morning trying to get ready for work. I am a Florida girl to the core – born and raised right here in Sarasota – and I absolutely do not have a winter wardrobe. What’s the point in spending a ton of money on a nice toasty coat that I’m only going to wear once or twice a year? I don’t think there is one, which is probably what led to my Monday morning pre-work panic. So what’s a girl (or guy) to do when it’s cold outside? Why it’s time to Goodwill it of course!
If you are like me, and refuse to shell out the big bucks on never-to-be-worn clothing, I recommend letting Goodwill save the day. Manasota Goodwills are THE BEST when it comes to winter clothing. Think about it, people move here from all over the country to get away from the cold! And what’s one of the first things they do once they move? They realize they have no reason to keep their winter clothes and they donate them to Goodwill! (On a side note, people also donate a lot of those scraper things for when there is ice on your windshield in case you ever need one of those - just an FYI.)
SO, the next time you find yourself panicking in a closet because it’s cold out, do your best to get dressed and then head right on down to the nearest Goodwill. Or better yet, buy a few warm items the next time you’re in the store to avoid the panic all together. Your wallet and your body will thank you.
Here's a glimpse of my new Goodwill Winter Wardrobe!
Both outfits were less than $15 total for the pants, top, and sweater.
You can't really tell in the picture but the sweater on top is super soft, warm, and cozy!
My sleeves are pulled up here because it was warm in the store but rest assured this is another warm and cozy outfit!
